Tixtrade

This arrived today from one of the folks who runs Tixtrade, which launched yesterday:

”You can buy or sell Giants tickets from other Giants fans for free at www.tixtrade.com. Join in on the fun and start building feedback within the community. It's a great resource for Giants fans and will surely become a reliable place to find great tickets.“

This site enables Giants fans to buy and sell tickets to each other for free. (Well, you still have to pay for the tickets, but there aren’t any weirdo hidden transaction fees.) If I actually had money, I'd be looking to actually buy tickets, but I have given the site a good look, and I consider it a happy alternative to the usual suspects.

  1. Thanks for the heads up. I've already joined:)

(PS: Heard about this site via MCC. Fun reading so far, and I'm looking forward to more.)

I didn't look through the thing very carefully, so I didn't realize that it's basically a blind auction. I put in an offer on tickets for tonight's game for exactly the asking price, figuring that whoever's selling them would simply accept as soon as he/she saw it. Of course, it's 11:00am, I've heard nothing, and there's another offer on the table that I can't see. In other words, on first look-through I figured it'd be like StubHub, only without the outrageous commission, but I was wrong.

  4. I’m very much a babe in the woods when it comes to stuff like this, so I really don’t know what to tell you. They did just launch, so maybe there are some teething troubles. For what it’s worth, you might want to contact them.

If I caused you any problems, I apologize.

  5. Gregg,

First and foremost, thank you for the plug. I'm glad a fellow Giants fan can help my site get on its feet.

    Deadteddy,
Yes we're different from stubhub. The seller of the tickets has the freedom to pick who he wants. We thought long and hard about this, and we feel our current system gives the right amount of freedom to both the buyer and seller.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback. If you have more suggestions, please do let me know. There's a "Contact Us" link on tixtrade.com. Or you can leave another comment here and I'll follow up.

    Thanks for using our site,
    Joe
